"Kaerasori" agent for the control of European mole cricket and other soil pests.
Mole cricket prefers to settle on rather humid and organic-rich lands due to the fact that the larvae hatching from eggs feed on humus at first and only after a while - on living parts of plants. And an adult insect is not averse to feasting on earthworms and insect larvae that come across on the way. Therefore, when buying manure, humus, compost and other organic fertilizers, carefully inspect them during storage or application to the soil. Find a pest - immediately destroy them.
In the spring (during the flight of this pest), light traps can be used. Install a lantern with flat glass on the site, and under it place a container with a water-kerosene or water-solar emulsion: arriving at the light of the lantern, the insect hits the glass and falls into the liquid, in which, gasping for breath, it drowns.
To brave mole cricket, they also use finely chopped dry branches of chrysanthemums, which are cut in the fall and dried in the shade in the attic.
In the spring, when planting seedlings, a pinch of the crushed mass is placed in each hole, and it is also scattered into the grooves when sowing vegetable seeds. In late April - early May, small piles of manure can be spread on the site. Females lay eggs in them. After 3-4 weeks, these piles loosen and destroy adult insects and their eggs.
Food baits are also effective: containers with very smooth walls are filled with well-boiled corn or wheat grains, mixed with hot unrefined sunflower oil, and dripped 5 cm below ground level. Cover from above with a sheet of plywood or a board. They periodically examine them, choosing and destroying the mole cricket.
The second option is to pour a solution of honey or fermented beer into 1 / 3-1 / 4 capacity bottles of wine or champagne and dig it obliquely into the soil so that the neck is at ground level. Feeling the smell, the crickets crawl into the bottles, but they can't get out of them, of course ...
With a high concentration of pests, it is advisable to use ready-made granular preparations: "Kaerasori", "Grom", "Medvetoks", "Fenaksin+" and others.
They are applied to a depth of 3-5 cm before planting seedlings in the ground or during the growing season. If there are too many insects, the preparations are reused.
